This team is part of R&D where our In-the-Ear hearing aids are developed. Our team consists of professionals in mechanical design.
We are driven by innovation and development so working with us is a constant learning curve. You will be located in our site in Erlangen, Germany with dynamic and progressive colleagues, who are highly skilled and empathetic.
As a Product Developer Mechanical Design you will work closely with other R&D teams, like electro-acoustic, wireless experts, audiology, etc. but also teams in other functions like quality management or marketing. Some of them are distributed over multiple geographical locations, for instance Denmark and Singapore.
You will report to our Head of R&D ITE MD.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities:
Realize mechanical design and drawings in MCAD with special attention to tolerance analysis, industrial design and tooling realization
System integration of hearing aids in regards of mechanical engineering and design
Hardware development of hearing aids and their features
Evaluation and verification via measurement of components and interfaces
Development of component tests incl. test equipment
Execution of conceptual work during product architecture phase and within FF-projects in the field of Mechanics
Creation, review and release of test specifications and test reports
Material selection with corresponding experts and collaboration with tool makers and suppliers
BOM creation and maintenance in PLM system
Support of production transfer and product ramp up
We expect you to be a team player, who can drive topics but seeks feedback and engage in constructive discussions with your colleagues. Creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude are part of your strengths.
You most likely fit the following profile:
University degree with technical background, ideally in field of mechanical engineering or mechatronics
Minimum 3 years professional experience as (product) developer
Experience in area of medical technology beneficial
Experience in CAD development (CREO) required
Basic experience in material properties and selection (desirable plastic materials)
Basic experience in mold construction, tolerance analysis and series production preferable
Basic experience in ePLM systems desirable
Well-structured and organized way of working
