Communicative Disorders Assistant - Salus Hearing

Salus Hearing is currently seeking a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join their team in Vaughan, ON. We are open to individuals seeking both full time and part time opportunities.
What it’s all about:
As a CDA, you are passionate about the hearing healthcare of our clients. You are able to discuss communicative strategies with customers, liaise with clinicians and physicians, and conduct follow up appointments to ensure the best care for our customers.
You will provide supportive assistance to clinicians in performing hearing screenings, preparing therapy materials, and troubleshooting/maintaining hearing aids and clinical equipment. The CDA will also be responsible for assisting with general administrative and reception duties including but not limited to greeting and serving patients, answering phones/inquiries, scheduling appointments, billing, processing payments, maintaining records and accounts.

What you will do:
- Perform hearing screenings
- Review hearing aid care and orientation during hearing aid fittings
- Assist in cleaning and sterilization of medical tools and equipment
- Hearing aid maintenance and troubleshooting
- Hearing aid and ear mold modifications as directed
- Maintaining social media communications
- Qualifying patients for appropriate Audiology appointments
- Ordering and receiving hearing aids and hearing related products
- Provide fees/estimates for products/treatments, process invoices, and coordinate financial arrangements with patients
- Receive and issue payments utilizing industry software (BluePrint)
- Prepare instructions regarding patient’s treatments and follow ups
- Liaise with vendors, couriers, and specialist’s office for any referrals
What we are looking for:
- A diploma in Communicative Disorders Assistant Program and Registration with CDAAC
- Previous experience working in the hearing healthcare industry seen as a strong asset
- 2+ years of work experience as a CDA
- Personable attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain organized to meet deadlines and customer appointments
- Ability to work as part of a team
