The Team
Become part of our global Signal Processing group. We are +50 dedicated and highly skilled specialists working on a multitude of different topics all around Audio Signal Processing at two sites in Erlangen (Germany) and in Lynge (Denmark, near Kopenhagen). Join us in processing and analyzing microphone and other sensor signals, in realizing algorithms in hardware, firmware, DSPs, or mobile devices. Not being familiar with hearing aids, one can hardly imagine the complexity and the possibilities of hearing aid processing. Join us in experiencing and developing new algorithms, neural networks, detection methods, machine learning concepts, and much more.
The Role
As a Development Engineer (m/f/d) you will join our global Signal Processing team and become part of the team based in Erlangen, Germany.
You will report to our Head of Signal Processing Algorithmic Research & Neural Networks.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities:
- Developing complex algorithms in the field of (audio) signal processing e.g. noise reduction, beamforming, sensor data processing, machine learning and neural networks
- Reviewing and optimizing algorithms regarding efficiency and algorithms complexity within a hearing device
- Implementation of algorithms in C language (fix point) for integration in ASIC, firmware, and Python for neural networks applications
- Close collaboration with interdisciplinary platform development team (ASIC, firmware, software, wireless and audiology)
Requirements
You have profound knowledge in the development of signal processing algorithms or a strong expertise in machine learning methods or neural networks. Ideally you have some experience in audio signal processing or audio and data analysis. Furthermore, you are motivated by working together with others in teams, sharing and exchanging ideas, defining joint targets and ambitiously working together to reach the targets with great success.
You most likely fit the following profile:
- Master’s or PhD degree in electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, medical engineering, or any other relevant discipline
- Previous work experience in the field of engineering is beneficial
- Very good knowledge in digital signal processing
- Structured working, analytical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills
- Experienced in programming with MATLAB (as well as Simulink), C/C++ and Python
- Very good knowledge in machine learning and neural networks
