The Team
We are looking for a Retail IT Solution Architect to strengthen our Retail Systems team, as we have new significant business requirements for which we need you to design new capabilities to deliver the business’ vision and extend the technologies we use.
We are a globally oriented team of skillful and proud IT professionals that take care of IT for our retail stores globally. We build, roll-out and support standard and in-house developed solutions that are used to aid people with hearing loss.
The Role
As our new Retail IT Solution Architect, your main responsibility will be to bring the technical vision to success by designing and providing recommendations for proposed solutions and roadmaps. To reach workable solutions, you will need to fill the two sides of the job, the architecture role and that of a business analyst. You will evaluate business requirements and come up with solutions in the form of products or services.
Essential tasks and responsibilities:
- Evaluate our retail IT landscape and map the business expectations with our IT capabilities
- Assess business requirements and ensure that these can be met in collaboration with our Business Analyst
- Develop the tech vision for retail IT in close collaboration with product owners, business owners and technical architects
- Run POCs on new technology to support new or changed capabilities
- Educate yourself on industry trends and new technology
- Engage as a sparring partner with the business owners, and other retail IT team members
- Align and work closely with our global IT enterprise architecture team
Your Profile
As this is a new role in the team, we rely on your experience to ensure we are set up for success together.
Your experience:
- You have a computer science, engineering, or other relevant degree
- You are an experienced solution architect
- You have worked with a broad set of systems such as point of sales, CRM, ERP, Web, BI and system integration tools
- You have broad experience with agile and waterfall methodologies.
Your personal competencies:
- You have a structured approach and know how to document your analysis and design
- You have direct and indirect leadership experience, as well as great consulting, communication, and influencing skills
- You are good at creating collaborative environments and change management
- You have a goal-oriented mindset, but are not afraid to fail
- You are a collaborator with a self-starter and continuous improvement mindset
- You have an open mind and believe that honesty and transparency result in the shortest route to the best solution for all involved
