The Team
We aim to deliver on our purpose of making wonderful sound part of everyone’s life. We are strengthening our design capabilities with additional, enthusiastic, and purpose-inspired people inside our global UX team.
This team is part of R&D where we develop audiological fitting software for use by hearing care professionals as well as mobile apps for end users to control their hearing aids and support their lives. As a member of the Global UX team, you’ll work alongside developers, testers, and audiologists to bring seamless ease-of-use to our overall software experiences. Sometimes teams are distributed across the world, so the ability to clearly communicate and collaborate remotely is needed.
The role can be based at our office in Lynge, just north of Copenhagen or our office in Erlangen in Germany. You will be working alongside thousands of dynamic and progressive colleagues all working towards the goal of improving the lives of those with hearing loss.
The Role
UI designers collaborate closely with other team members inside Global UX as well, developers in our Echo Design Library team and product teams building our fitting software. The role requires someone who is highly organised and experienced to build and own a Figma design library that will be paired with a codebase used by the teams.
As a UI Designer you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive design system that will be robust but also flexible enough to adapt to the needs of differing brands. UI components you create should be detail orientated but also considered as part of the larger ecosystem of creating screens, flows and experiences with these building blocks.
You will be providing the experience of our next generation audiological fitting software, working closely with our cross-functional development teams, Software Developers, Testers, and Audiologists.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities:
- Understanding user needs of the design and development teams working with the components you create
- Continually educating the wider business of the value of UI design
- Working inside Figma to create new flexible components and iterate on existing patterns
- Contributing to our design practice across the B2B software teams
- Working strategically with other Design Ops teams across the business to develop best practices and ways of working
About you
We expect you to be a user-centered designer with an eye for strong visuals and smart user journeys. You are a team player, who seeks design feedback and engages in constructive discussions with colleagues. Creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude are part of your strengths.
- Higher education in UI/UX Design, Human-centered design practices, Service Design, or a similar field
- Knowledge of Universal Design and accessibility standards
- Good experience with building and maintaining UI design libraries in Figma
- A portfolio showcasing UI/UX and visual design
- The corporate language is English, so you need to have professional proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Domain knowledge about medical device development or audiology is a plus
